On March 25, 2025, OpenAI announced 4o Image Generation with the ability to generate photorealistic images.
The official post suggests this is the most advanced photo generation model OpenAI has ever released. There are some demos too tagged along with the post.
Here’s a sample:
4o Image Generation claims a consistent image generation ability. That is something most AI image generators are still struggling to achieve.
But the best part is how accurate text generation is. 4o’s ability to integrate texts along with symbols smoothly, that too, in the required format, sets a bar. The tool can generate handwritten texts, slogans, and more with high accuracy.
By the way, the tool also generates stickers.
Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI has posted on X talking about its new features.
In his words:
“it's an incredible technology/product. i remember seeing some of the first images come out of this model and having a hard time they were really made by AI. we think people will love it, and we are excited to see the resulting creativity.”

He also posted a selfie turned into a meme.
Here’s the thing: AI-powered image generation isn’t something new. But with the demonstrated functionalities of the 4o Image Generation tool, it’s clear that this one might turn out to be the most advanced version yet.
But it also sets the benchmark for alternatives to achieve. Given how fast AI developing companies are launching models one after another to counter their competitors, it will be fun to see which brand is going to try to counter OpenAI’s 4o Image Generation tool.
Here’s the result of us giving it a shot:
