The Whatsapp beta update issue of version 2.24.24.5 is causing a green screen and forcing select users’ applications to close.
It is exciting to be a part of something new, and that’s why Android and iOS app makers provide a beta environment for select users to enjoy new features before everyone else. However, beta versions often come with technical errors, bugs, and other issues. WhatsApp is facing a similar problem with its latest Whatsapp Beta Update Issue, version 2.24.24.5. Users of the latest WhatsApp beta version are facing issues like a complete green screen and abrupt force-closing.
However, the issue seems to be isolated to the 2.24.24.5 version only. Users have taken to social media platforms to express their concerns and validate their problems with others in the beta community. Apparently, almost every user of the WhatsApp beta 2.24.24.5 is facing this issue.

Android Authority was the first to report the Whatsapp Beta update issue. Officials from WhatsApp have not responded to the ongoing bug or a potential resolution timeline. Since the app version is in beta, the resolution would be quick.
The issue isn’t just limited to a green screen within the app. The bug is causing the entire app to display a solid block of green screen, rendering the app completely useless for that particular session. It is unclear if the recent activities were also erased after the bug appeared. The only resolution to the green screen making the app useless is to force closing and restart the app. However, the green screen issue reappears when users click on any chat window.
Beta versions are often unstable and come with a disclaimer of the potential threats users may have to face against the perks they get to enjoy before the world does. Beta testing phases aim to identify bugs, errors, crashes, and other challenges before releasing a stable version to the general user communities.
So, the green screen and forced-close issues getting highlighted are a good signal for the company to rectify potential problems and release a version that ensures a seamless user experience. This factor is quite common in top messaging apps and their beta versions as they rapidly release new updates to remain competitive.
