Gather Up Wizards, Witches, Muggles, and No-Majs (if you are not a Britisher)!
Once again, we are going back in time to explore Hogwarts and its magical world filled with beasts, mysteries, and unforgiving curses.
Hogwarts Legacy, a game that dominated 2023 and sold over 30 million copies, is now getting a sequel that has already reached the development stage. The open-world RPG by Avalanche Software remains one of the most anticipated console and PC games in the franchise ever, and with the announcement of the sequel’s development, fans are thrilled!
The President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, David Haddad, in an interview with Variety, said:
“We have known for some time that fans are looking for more things in this world, and so we’re spending a lot of time thinking about that. Our insights tell us that there are not huge distinctions between a younger version of a fan and an older version of a fan. They’re just deep ‘Harry Potter’ fans, and we try to build authentic experiences to delight them.”
David hinted at how he and the other C-suite members remain focused on making the world of Harry Potter in Hogwarts Legacy 2 as detailed as possible. In the same interview, he also stated that the storyline of the sequel will tie before the upcoming HBO’s adaptation of Harry Potter Reboot.
While 2023 was an epic year for Warner Bros. thanks to titles like Hogwarts Legacy, this year has been a bad one with the release of titles Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This failed launch has costed over $200 million in losses.
In addition to their super busy schedules due to their commitments to the Hogwarts Legacy franchise, Warner Bros. members are also handling other Harry Potter spin-off games in parallel. These titles include Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and remastered Lego Harry Potter collection games.
Hogwarts is now home to multiple games and movie franchises, with new spin-off games and shows joining the universe.
If you are a fan, there’s much to look forward to. Meanwhile, you could give the Hogwarts Legacy a rerun and freshen up your memory in the world of Wizards and Witches!
