Google Cloud announced multiple new initiatives under the Google for Startups Cloud Program to help AI startups in India grow faster and sustainably.
Google is taking a leadership step in empowering the Indian AI startup ecosystem through a cohort-based Google for Startups Cloud Program. The company made huge announcements in this regard during yesterday’s Google AI Startups Summit in Bengaluru. During the event, Google said that early stage startups will get $200k and AI-first startups will receive $350K in Google Cloud credits to foster a scalable ecosystem.
Google has formed partnerships with some of the key VC investment and incubation leaders of the world to provide adequate fundraising opportunities at the right time. It has partnered with a global incubator, Y Combinator, to offer access to Nvidia H100 Graphic Processing Units, Cloud Tensor Units, Cloud Credits, and hands-on mentorship to the selected AI-first startups in the Summer 2024 cohort.
Google is signing deals with 500, StartX, and Berkeley Skydeck, among others, to offer investor awareness guidance and technical workshops. Another highlight of the event was the announcement of a 12-week program, Emerging ISV Partner Springboard. The Program will focus on strengthening go-to-market assets, product refinement strategies, technical architecture, and best practices.
“Google is committed to empowering AI startups to drive innovation and growth. These initiatives demonstrate our dedication to providing critical support and resources to early-stage founders, helping them build and scale successful AI-powered businesses.”
- Manish Gupta, Senior director of research at Google’s Deepmind
The organization is also setting up a partnership with one of its critical users of Gemini 1.5 Pro multimodal AI, DeliverHealth, to build clinical documentation solutions.
Bikram Singh Bedi, managing director of Google Cloud India, said during the event, “Our collaboration with DeliverHealth is a reflection of our shared commitment towards innovation through the transformative potential of GenAI by automating tedious tasks and improving efficiency and accuracy. Together, we aim to reimagine the future of clinical documentation, enabling clinicians to focus more on patient care.”
With these initiatives kicking off, over 100 genAI startups originating from India can scale faster and more efficiently, helping India grow into a leading facilitator of AI companies and AI-powered solution providers to a diverse range of industries.
